Try Festive Drinks at Holiday Pop-Up Bars in Metro Detroit

The holiday season is one of the best times of the year in metro Detroit. Despite the cold weather, snow and even rain, locations around the area are festival and ready to bring smiles to peoples’ faces.

Over the past few years, bars across the area have been transforming for the holiday season, dropping their normal décor for Christmas lights, paintings, reindeer, holiday-themed drinks and more.

Below are some of the best holiday pop-up bars in metro Detroit.

Miracle at The Oakland and Dragonfly

Miracle is a national pop-up bar that will have two locations in metro Detroit – one in the city and one in Ferndale. They have more than a dozen cocktails, as well as shots and merchandise for purchase. Reservations are available starting Nov. 22 through Dec. 30.

Sippin’ Santa at The Skip

Sippin’ Santa returns to The Skip in The Belt giving a warm feeling during the winter. It’s a holiday-themed tiki bar. There are several drinks, including the Sippin’ Santa and the Merry Spritzmas, plus The Skip’s famous frozen drinks. Sippin’ Santa is open now.

Whiskey Wonderland at Detroit City Distillery

Last year, Detroit City Distillery in Eastern Market hopped on the holiday popup theme, and this year, they “promise the halls will be even more decked.” They have a special holiday menu on top of their regular menu, and you can try some spirits distilled right in the city.

Cocktails & Cable Knits at Union Assembly and Union Woodshop

These pop-ups offer a swanky, rat pack-like 50’s/60’s retro cocktail vibe. It's Instagram-worthy, with lots of shades of vintage pink in thoughtfully crafted drinks, apps, and retail shopping within a completely outfitted transformed throwback space.

Cadillac Lodge

Cadillac Lodge is in the heart of Downtown Detroit near Campus Martius. The family-friendly lodge is in a heated tent with fireplaces, games, special cocktails, food and non-alcoholic drinks for kids.

Blitzen’s on Bagley

Located in Southwest Detroit, Blitzen’s on Bagley returns once again this year. They have a few different cocktails, plus spiked hot cocoa to keep you warm. You can also grab sushi from Goblin Detroit or other snacks from Gajiza Dumplins.

Jingle at Ale Mary’s

The bar in Downtown Royal Oak transforms once again to Jingle, the pop-up inside the bar. They also have igloos outdoors, plus thousands of Christmas lights, holiday decorations and themed cocktails.

The Iron Gate

The cocktail bar right in the heart of Downtown Wyandotte will have holiday-themed drinks. along with their regular cocktail menu, and they offer half-off cocktails on Wednesday! The bar also has great appetizers and small plates. They are also selling holiday merchandise.

Holiday Pop-Up Bar at The Royal Park Hotel

Located in Downtown Rochester, The Royal Park Hotel has several holiday events throughout the season, but Park 600, the bar inside the hotel, transforms into the pop-up bar on Thursdays through Saturdays.

The menu has some food items, including Smores Dip, as well as six different cocktails.

Griswold’s Hideaway

Hideaway Bar, located underneath the new Bandit Tavern & Hideaway in Royal Oak, is going on a Christmas Vacation and will become Griswold’s Hideaway.

There will be lights all over the place, holiday-themed drinks and much more.
