Things to do Before and After the Game
If you have time before the game to hang out, eat, grab a drink or just explore, make sure to check out the Detroit Brew Trail. It highlights many breweries in metro Detroit and the city itself, and allows you to redeem points.
You can also download our Detroit Pizza Pass to try some incredible pizza right around Comerica Park! Some of the spots in the area with deals include Buddy’s Pizza, Hockeytown Cafe, Jolly Pumpkin, Union Assembly and Mootz Pizzeria.
Tin Roof is another great spot to hang out before or after the game. They have an outdoor patio that’s right across the street from Comerica Park, good drinks and tasty food.
Just a couple of blocks away, you can check out Detroit Beer Co. One of the first breweries in Detroit, they have a variety of craft brews and a large menu.

Guide to Comerica Park
Seeing a game at Comerica Park is a great experience for fans, and though the stadium is nearly 25 years old, it’s still a great place to see a ballgame. There are concession stands throughout, and plenty of local restaurants featuring for food items if you want to try something local.
There’s an open-air picnic area called Brushfire Grill and right next to it is a place to try local beer at the Beer Hall.
For kids, you can check out the Fly Ball Ferris Wheel and the carousel. Kids ride for free on Sundays for Kids Day.
Out in left field, you can see statues of Tigers legends Ty Cobb, Charlie Gehringer, Hank Greenberg, Willie Horton, Al Kaline and Hal Newhouser. Plus, on the main concourse, you can go through the Tigers Walk of Fame where you can see historical elements from the team’s history.
There aren’t bad seats in the stadium, but sitting anywhere behind home plate, especially in the upper level, will give you great views of the game and the beautiful Detroit skyline in the background.

Where to Stay for the Game
There are plenty of hotels within just a few blocks of Comerica Park. The Atheneum Suite Hotel in Greektown just underwent renovations earlier this year and is about five blocks from Comerica Park. The Hilton Garden Inn is just two blocks away, and Aloft Detroit at the David Whitney puts you right in the heart of Grand Circus Park.
Other Things to Check Out
During the summer, Greenfield Village, about 20 minutes west of Detroit, hosts historic baseball games that take you back to the 1800s. The game is played with uniforms, equipment and rules from the 1800s, and live music, a parade and more.
You can also head about 30 minutes north of Detroit to Utica for the United Shore Professional Baseball League. It’s an independent league in metro Detroit that plays at a smaller stadium seating 4,000 fans. They have themed nights throughout the season and tickets are pretty cheap.
